Tangy Alley

Tangy Alley (甘辛小路, amakara kouji^?, lit. "Sweet and Salty Alley/Sweet and Crop") is one of the trial areas in Gaea, and it consists of a large world made out of candy and whipped cream, similarly to Moon Cloud. Its comment line is: "Society is 70% bitter."

History

Luca's Route

As they walked into the area, Croix commented that yet other strange world had appeared, while Cocona was itching to go and eat some of the sweets, although Cloche advised against doing so due to these being decorations. Luca then appeared, saying she intended to make them tasty, and explaining this place was like a food storage for everyone living on Gaea. She then asked the party a surprise question about which food she hated. Upon hearing it was tomatoes, Luca was glad and admitted she made a mistake when she created the place, filling the storage area with the tomatoes she hated so much and burying the donuts she liked so much under them. Luca then cried she would starve to death like this, making Croix comment she was being overly melodramatic. Cloche seemed to grasp the direction this was heading in and asked Luca if she intended to make them eat up all the tomatoes, but Luca said she wasn't cruel enough to make them do that, and she just wanted them to pick up as much donuts as they could while they went to another of her selves in the depths of the area.

After navigating the tomato and doughnut maze, the party found another of Luca's selves, who then counted the number of tomatoes and donuts they got. Upon noticing they had more donuts than tomatoes, Luca was overjoyed, which made Soope manifest another Sphere Key.

Cloche's Route

Cloche then appeared, saying she intended to make them tasty, and explaining this place was like a food storage for everyone living on Gaea. Layout

While this area is pretty large and similar to the Moon Cloud one, the trial is more like navigating a maze, given it requires the player to pick a larger number of pineapples/donuts than candies/tomatoes, both of which require observing the area and pick the path carefully, as they can get a general view of the screen by reading one of the signs near the entrance. It must be noted that the trial will be cleared only if the player has more pineapples/donuts than candies/tomatoes by the time they reach the Cloche/Luca on the innermost part of the area, while if they have less or the same number for both, they will fail the trial and they will have to do it over again. However, repeating the trial has no penalties, so they can feel free to do it over until they succeed. And if the player has too much problem with it, they can just check the maps for each route, as they have the best paths for traversing the food mazes while allowing them to collect the best number of pineapples/donuts.
