Free Prison (獄門釈, gokumonshaku?, lit. "Prison Gate of Freedom/Prison") is one of the trial areas in Gaea, and it consists of a large space filled with magma and monsters, which seems to represent the hatred and anger of Gaea's creator. Its comment line is: "God tests you on the road to hell."

Luca's Route[]
Upon arriving at this place, Croix asked what was happening with this world due to its high temperature, to which Luca replied it was just natural, as it existed to torment everything because she lately had been feeling that she hated everything for no reason. Luca then began laughing when Cloche pointed out that this was extremely irrational, asked if she scared them, and told them this world was also being a problem for her due to the magma and monsters created in it being a threat to the rest of Gaea. She then asked Croix and the others to go into the depths of this hell and defeat the master monster, adding that since these monsters were created from her own hatred, she couldn't do anything about them.
After they reached the monster and defeated it, both Croix and Cloche complained about the heat and the work it took to bring the monster down, and decided to go back to Luca. Luca was surprised to hear they managed to defeat it, but she then changed to say she always believed they could defeat that devil when Cloche and Croix began retorting that she pretty much sent them to their deaths. Luca then thanked them both, which made Soope manifest yet other Sphere Key.
Cloche's Route[]

Layout[]
Unlike the other Gaea trials, this one has the potential to be extremely nasty due to two reasons: the first is that it has encounters with some tough enemies, and the second is that all of the party will lose some of their HP with every step taken in this place due to the proximity to the boiling magma. So, it's pretty much a worsened version of the Perjury trial, which requires the player to try and finish up quickly, as well as try to heal themselves with Blue Magic in battle so they don't end up dead. If the player gets defeated, they will get sent back to the start of the area, but they will also get a free full heal for the party, so it's no problem if they fail the first time. Likewise, the player can always talk to the Luca/Cloche at the beginning to get themselves healed at any point of the trial, even if that means they will have to backtrack to do so.
