Cobble Box

Cobble Box (玉石手箱, gyokusei tebako^?, lit. "Chest of Gems and Stones/Trick or Treat") is one of the trial areas in Gaea, and it consists of a huge cavern that houses a large number of treasure chests. Its comment line is: "Is love or betrayal inside the box."

History

Luca's Route

As soon as the party stepped into this area, they saw Jacqli walking around, so Croix hurried and confronted her, asking if she was after the Heart of the Land. Jacqli congratulated him for being able to figure that out, and explained to Croix that yes, what she sought was the physical form of Luca's soul: the Heart of the Land, which sang to keep the entirety of Gaea itself in existence. However, she refused to tell him what use she was going to give to the Heart, and assured Croix that unlike the untrustworthy humans, she never lied. She also advised him to worry first about his own goals instead of the goals of others. Cocona then told Croix to hurry up, as they couldn't allow Jacqli to get to the Heart before them.

The party stepped further into the cave, and found themselves meeting another Luca, who welcomed them to her treasure chamber. She explained this was the place where all her memories and feelings rested: everything from precious memories to useless junk. However, she was troubled because she couldn't distinguish the treasure chests containing precious items from those containing junk, so she tasked Croix and Cloche with finding five Orbs that were among the large amount of treasure chests. She also warned them that she accidentally put some monsters in the chests, so they would have to be careful, although Cloche doubted it was accidental that she did that.

After they finished finding the Orbs, Cloche thanked them, making Soope manifest another Sphere Key.

Cloche's Route

Layout

As mentioned previously, this place is a series of interconnected caverns that house a large amount of treasure chests, all of which contain a large variety of items, an Orb, money or monsters. However, there is only one Orb chest and one monster chest per screen, so the player should check the maps to be able to see which chests you have to be avoided if they don't feel like fighting, although they can also run away from these battles. However, since the positions of the chests and the items they contain differ completely between both routes, it's important to check the correspoding map. Likewise, if the player wants to open all the chests, it's a good idea to do so before finding the final Orb, as once the trial is cleared, monsters will begin showing up in this area as random encounters.
