The Entrance Forest (導入森, dounyuu mori?, lit. "Entrance Forest") is the first area accessed in Gaea, and the place into which the party enters upon selecting the Gaea Village location on the Gaea world map for the first time. It has the particularity of being pretty much a lifeless forest, as the trees and plants don't exude any sort of life force, and the leaves can't be made to fall down no matter how much one tries. Later on, it can be accessed by going south from the Gaea Village entrance. Coming to this place also marks the beginning of Phase 2 of Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica. Due to being considered as a part of the Gaea Village as far as the game is concerned, it doesn't have a comment line of its own and instead has the same one from said location: "A land of rejuvenation and sanctuary."
Upon stepping into the forest, Croix and his friends were surprised to find themselves inside a forest after having traversed the rather sterile Verticave. However, Amarie commented on how weird it seemed that the forest was devoid of life, and to demonstrate her point, she tried pulling out the leaves from one of the trees to no effect. However, their discussion was cut short when a few of the monsters created by the continent ambushed them.
After defeating them, Leglius and Croix commented on how tough these creatures were, and that they were better off forgetting everything they knew and starting again, prompting a voice to sarcastically remark that they would be seeing hell if they complained about such small fry. The owner of the voice showed itself: it was the Jacqli robot, which then opened itself to reveal its occupant: it was a girl.
Jacqli then asked what they were doing in the continent, as they had to be very bored to have come sightseeing to such a dangerous place.
Croix told her that they had come to save Luca, who had been absorbed by the continent. Jacqli congratulated him for having figured so much out, but when Croix asked if she knew what was the way to save her, Jacqli refused and told him that she would stop them from saving Luca because that conflicted with her goals. She then bid farewell to the party by sort-of challenging them to a race: if they got to Luca first, she would admit defeat. The party then proceeded until they reached the Gaea Village.
Croix told her that they had come to save Cloche, who had been absorbed by the continent. Jacqli congratulated him for having figured so much out, but when Croix asked if she knew what was the way to save her, Jacqli refused and told him that she would stop them from saving Cloche because that conflicted with her goals. She then bid farewell to the party by sort-of challenging them to a race: if they got to Cloche first, she would admit defeat. The party then proceeded until they reached the Gaea Village.
The smallest of all the Gaea areas, and aside of the storyline events that requires passing through here to reach Gaea proper, this place serves absolutely no purpose: there are no random encounters, no Talk Topics or items. Therefore, coming back here after reaching the village is merely a waste of time, so the player should just focus in proceeding further into the continent.
