Cocona Bartel (ココナ・バーテル, Kokona Bāteru) (known as Cocona Vatel in the Japanese version) is Croix's adopted little sister. She gets along with him quite well (lovingly calling him him "Cro") despite having no blood relation to him, she is actually a Reyvateil herself, but she has not yet matured and is unable to use Song Magic fully. However, she is able to craft a little fireball in combat, showing that she can at least command the most basic Song Magic that all Reyvateils can use. She fights using Batons that Croix made.

[edit] Cocona's Story
[edit] Past
2 years prior during a particularly bad I.P.D outbreak where she lost her real family, Croix adopted her and they've lived together ever since. She trained herself to become physically strong enough to support Croix in battle.

Meeting up with Croix when he goes to meet Luca, she travels with them until the end of the Ironplate Desert where she is revealed to have an I.P.D. infection herself up to Level 7, and displays symptoms which result in her being taken away from them for a short while. Though they soon rescue her during the battle between the two factions.
As a result of this infection, she is also affected when "Hibernation" is sung to shut down Infel Pira, collapsing and saying it feels as if her body has no power before falling unconscious. Croix enters her Cosmosphere and breaks through her Boundary Wall, allowing them to stop the Sublimination.
She later awakens when Cloche sings "Implanter".

In every ending she is asked by Jacqil to go to the third tower to help save the world. In her own ending this is further expanded to where she tells Croix it will take a few years and they hug.
