Hello, it's Tsuchiya.
Today we finally completed the mastering for the Hymmnos Concert CDs. Therefore, I had to move to the factory to oversee the pressing process in which the songs are made into a CD. They should be reaching your hands in about one more month, so please wait a little more for them!
And for this time, we increased the number of pages in the booklets due to the reflections I did from what happened in the previous games. As the Ar tonelico songs have such long lyrics, which need to contain the Hymmnos lines in their original font, the translation for them and the Japanese lines, I've been told multiple times from sometime ago that [the lyrics are hard to read!] So in order to solve that problem, we decided to structure the booklets so each song has a couple pages assigned to it. Of course, they all have their explanations attached too. And I also increased the amount of space devoted to these explanations compared to the previous times. Please look forward to it!
Well then, let's dive into today's topic. For this issue of Pulling the Trigger, the last one for this year, we'll talk about Song Synthesis. While I talked a little about it previously, today I want to explain the feelings I put into the Song Synthesis system.
Song Synthesis is a system that descends directly from the [Install] and [Dualstall] systems that were present in the previous games, all of which were ways to strengthen the heroines by giving them items, which in turn would also make their Song Magic stronger. This time, we have decided to call it [Programming], and the way it works under the Ar tonelico 3 world setting is that there are beings called Hymmas, which are personifications of the [relative fantasies each heroine has]. For example, if a heroine is capable of clearly defining a desire she has, like [I want to do ○○!], that desire will become a Hymma. Therefore, each Soulspace has a multitude of Hymmas existing within itself. Additionally, each of them has a character inside the Soulspace that must play a role of some sort in it.
As they are [part of the heroines' feelings], by intentionally emphasizing some particular Hymmas, you can slightly change the special characteristics the Song Magic has, the method for doing this being Programming. And among these Hymmas, there are some that you will be able to emphasize easily, while there are others where doing so won't be possible. For the ones you aren't capable of emphasizing normally, you'll need to make the heroines transmit purer waves in order to make a more detailed Programming, meaning they'll have to remove their clothes due to them acting as an obstruction for their waves.
While I made Song Synthesis under that setting, my greatest reason and real intentions for having made it this way is so you all might have fun by using that system. The Ar tonelico games have as their main point the communication with the heroines, so I have to do my best efforts when it comes to the systems that serve as the core of the interactions with them. That is why I always aim to make them as systems that serve to represent the actual communication with them. As for the system messages used in them, the conversations used in Song Synthesis go beyond the 300 words count, so I think you'll be able to see as much of the heroines' own natures as the effort you put into doing so. Programming the Hymmas into the Songs will also change them, so please try to do all sorts of things when you start Programming.
Well everyone, I hope you all have a nice year!
