Hello everyone. Kawachi from Banpresto here.
During 12 months, the release date for Ar tonelico has been gradually getting closer.
Because of its RPG nature, there have been a lot of people wanting to play
and savor it, and even though we didn't release any information during a good time, we have been gradually releasing information through this column, increasing it abruptly since we started writing there.
This time, we will begin talking about an event we did back on October 25, 2005, called the [Ar tonelico Project and Casting Presentation].
The web news might have already covered it, but now, I thought we should talk about what happened at the presentation.
On the day of the event, we received a great crowd of reporters, and upon fully realizing the attention they were giving to [Ar tonelico], I thought that I should give them my sincerest gratitude.
To put it simply, they were there to report everything that happened during the presentation.
We began by showing to the public the Opening Movie and its song, [Singing Hill], which was sung by "Shikata Akiko", and composed and arranged by Director Tsuchiya from Gust, and later on, we all began a discussion about the "Songs".
I think that Tsuchiya-san will tell you all fervently about the "Songs" in other occasion, while I will talk about the voice actors.
Here, we presented some of the many voice actors that gave their cooperation to us in the Ar tonelico project, such as the main character Lyner's voice: "Masahide Fuse", Aurica's Voice: "Ui Miyazaki", and Misha's voice: "Sakura Nogawa". And also the voice actress that had the role of Shurelia: "Kanako Sakai". These four were the ones that attracted the most attention.
However, at the day, the voices for the main character and the heroines weren't able to prepare themselves fully for the recording that was going to take place in the backstage, putting us in a very difficult situation.
A little earlier, both Aurica and Misha had a lot of the difficulties with the recordings for their respective enormous volumes of script, but a little after that, at the time they would receive the response from the covering press, they acted their parts as if they were actual residents of the Ar tonelico world, and I felt as if they had fully assimilated their characters. That made me very happy.
After the performance (though it was a little belated), we showed a demo movie made from images from what was already completed in the game, and everyone was as if they were eating the movie with their eyes. Together with impressions such as [So you are participating in such a great project?], now I have gotten the motivation for talking much more about the many things that will introduce you all to the Ar tonelico world.
Many trials await them in the game proper.
While they have adventures climbing up the Tower, these adventures will weave an story where all of them will gradually change their perspective of the world by means of all the experiences they will have in this setting, and certainly, please try to experience all of them by yourselves.
